We should take more touchbacks on kickoffs

We kept returning kicks and mostly got to 15 yard line. Better to take ball on 25 I think, esp when we know it is battle of field positions.

Anyway, Bama getting a bye into CFP seems hardly what regular season and conf championship should be all about.

All teams should take more touch backs. Lots are accepting 1st and 10 at the 10 and 15 yard line out of stupidity. Good special teams coaching has figured (if capable) to kick it high and at the left side right to the goal line. Get down the field quickly and smoother the kick returner between the 5 and 15 yard line and not at the 25. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist if your opponent is not to bright. Being a sucker for this one deserves what you get.

When the ball was kicked INTO the endzone

We did take the touch back. Most of the kickoffs were fielded at the goal line or even the 1-4 yard line. You can't catch the ball at the half yard line and then retreat into the end zone.

You are correct and our opponent is to be congratulated for being able to do that. That is something they practice a lot I’m sure.

Bama kicker did not have power to get it the end zone, but kicked it super high to give coverage team time to get down the field. They also play starters on kickoffs.

Great game plan and executed well.

He didn't have the power to get it into the end zone but did have the power to kick it higher than normal to the goal line.

That simply doesn't make sense.
