We lost for three reasons...

1) Pitching. We have no bullpen and we left Barnes in too long because of it. Vandy had the better starter for most of the game, but like us had a vulnerable bullpen.
2) Vanderbilt made some INCREDIBLE defensive plays.
3) The umpire was obviously a SEC homer.

That's it.

They scored more runs than we did.
Doesn't matter how it happened, scoring more runs wins every time.

1: they hit well
2: their pitcher tonight was a top 5 draft pick
3: we didn't hit well
4: our pitchers are tired
5: errors killed us all year
6: we have lost our confidence
7: we have no closer
8: we don't have a top 5 draft pick pitcher
9: this is a really hard game to play.

And the bad play[?] by DU 1sty baseman in the 6th where Greene likely could have gotten the ball and tossed out the runner. We also walked a couple of Vandy guys that scored; not good. Agree that Williams shot to left should have gotten over the LF's head.

is annoying. this board always uses it. you have to find a way to overcome your opponent. period. college umps are notoriously inconsistent on balls and strike. no one is out to get us. we Clemson we should be better than having that concept

but as has been the case much of the time during this downward trend, the team failed to capitalize.

An inability to get timely hits with RISP and unforced errors continues to plague this team.
