According to TJ Gurley.....

The Coot safety that was beat like a drum Saturday ....
"Georgia is a pretty good team. I think they had more total yards against Clemson than against us. We shut them down a little bit."
Hard to argue with that logic

Yeah, you guys did a lot better than Clemson, you really shut them down!

South Carolina forced 1 punt and 1 fumble. Georgia either scored or ran out the clock to end the half/game on their other drives.
Clemson forced 6 punts, forced a fumble, had an INT, and a Turnover on Downs.
TJ Gurley is an idiot.

Does this mean our offense is better because you punted 4 more times than we did?
Ultimately, both defenses were poor.

not to mention that 7 of those points were basically garbage

Yeah, we gave'em up, but I'm not so sure they score if we're not in prevent mode. I think it's obvious who played better against Georgia from the stats available, but if Clemson comes out and attacks Georgia on that last drive, maybe you're looking at 50 less yards and 7 less points.

Dumb coots....
Clemson scored more points = offense was better vs UGA Clemson allowed less points = defense was better vs UGA
Clemson vs SC totalo yards means UGA was more productive in less yards vs SCar than they were vs Clemson (i.e. they had to fight for more yards vs Clemson, but still ended up with less points than vs SCar and lost the game as well vs winning against SCar)...
Do you guys just go though life not understanding logic and math for a reason?

I don't think the offenses were the problem for either team

against UGA. But an argument could certainly be made that South Carolina's offense was better against UGA than Clemson's was.
If SC could have punched in the TD at the goal-line, I would maybe even agree. Ultimately though, you have to come up with the big plays in the game, and that's where Clemson gets the edge.

If we had stuck to our regular D at the end of the game

instead of the prevent (which I hate)they would not have scored again. I don't think there is much argument there.

and more in D's plan with much less "prevent" D. And it will get better as the season goes on - as will the d backs - Go Tigers! Smashing coots this year and for several years in a row, now that D is getting better!

We gave up less than 10 yards more to UGA

than South Carolina. And we played prevent defense in the later parts of the game where UGA racked up an additional 70 yards or so. In my opinion, our defense outplayed South Carolina's defense against UGA, regardless of stats. The score is what counts.

than Clemson. It's that giving up 7 yards less than 545 means you "shut them down a little bit."
