Illinois actual football teams is a big stretch, but since there are 14 schools in the BIG, wooden it take 8 of them to have a majority and actually allow play? If the original vote was 8-6, they only need to get two schools to change their vote, doesn't sound that impossible.

They do not seem to care about a majority, looks like they just need at least 6 so they can play 10 games, home and homes with each other this year.

Yea, think about it. When there was talk of Nebraska changing conferences or whatever, the BIG10 was strong and said if you leave this year, you're out.
What real course of action do they have if all their top schools do their own thing, especially in conference? They aren't going to kick out Ohio St and Penn St, let alone OSU, PSU, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Iowa. They'd be left with nothing.

Word leaked that Warren steered the presidents into canceling based on a “discussion together” and they didn’t have an actual vote. At least a few presidents went back and started hearing things they didn’t want to hear from their biggest donors plus also reconsidering how much in the red their athletics department’s are going to be this year.
