Watson's only loss on his record- a discussion

Nov 17, 2015, 9:46 AM

Why is it that a coach like Spurrier can quit during the season and not have the losses count against his record and yet a player gets hurt( even before half of the game is done) and it count against his record? The coach built the team, the staff and the playbook......it should be his the rest of the year.
I know we are talking a game vs a season, but I have a hard time with that stat that keeps getting thrown out about Watson. Still not too bad though! DW for Heisman!!!!!!!!

Clemson Football, the glory days are here!

To be fair, Spurrier knew he would win out if he stayed.

And since he knew he would be leaving after the season anyway, he didn't want the bar to be too high for the new coach. That's the kind of selfless man Steve Spurrier is.

If DW4 stays upright in that game we would have rolled to an easy win , in my opinion .
Everything was going swimmingly until that point , and we were about to score again I believe .
Cole came in , pick 6 and away goes our win .

DB23

he's 13-0 in games that he started and finished......

Nov 17, 2015, 9:49 AM

Technically this is true, but I consider him the QB in the loss at FSU even if he didn't start. Not saying it was his fault cuz he didn't fumble on the 3 yard line with a minute left in the game, but he played about triple what Stoudt played that game.

Go Tigers

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

yes, but DW4 hits leggett wide open in the endzone.......

Nov 17, 2015, 10:05 AM

not in the shoelaces like stoudt did.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Players don't have win-loss records.

Nov 17, 2015, 9:57 AM

Not officially, anyway.

That is a load of bear dung.

Why else were people talking about Manning, RIP, possibly breaking Favre's wins and yards record in the same game?

I dunno...first I heard about a wins record.***

that he was undefeated as a starter for two years until Oregon embarrased him and created that awesome meme opportunity. Lets see one of those from one of the more tech savy guys! Too funny
