Watson's Return Date?????

Nov 17, 2014, 9:30 AM

They say Watson will likely return this season. Do you think that means by the Carolina game or the bowl game? I sure hope by the Carolina game.

Depends on his pain tolerance and swelling

Nov 17, 2014, 9:32 AM

It sounds like he has a class 1 sprain which means a lot of rest and being careful with the knee. He could very well play against SC unless complications come up

What is worse, Class 1 or Class 3?***

Nov 17, 2014, 9:33 AM

Re: Watson's Return Date?????

i personally think they will be extremely careful with his return. If he's not 120%, i dont think we see him back this year except maybe in the bowl game. They wont risk his future to try and win 1 or 2 games. The staff wants to win as bad as any of us, thats a fact. But i dont see them sacrificing any part of the future to try and win 1 game.

Not much pain and swelling.

He could play this week.

He'll be ready Nov. 29th. Mark it down!

Brett favre and RG3 both played with LCL sprains. The SCAR game IS our season now. No way in hell he doesn't play.

Re: Watson's Return Date?????

One of the callers this morning on the radio said he was a therapist (not a doctor). He mentioned that with a sprained ligament, it could feel fine but give a higher chance of tearing another ligament.

That said, is it worth playing Watson for USC if an ACL injury is much more likely than normal? We'd then lose him for all of spring practice and he wouldn't be able to work out as much during the summer workouts.

You realize his knee will be unstable.... And won't be truly stable for at least a month. Playing him too early could lead to a catastrophic injury to that knee that could haunt him his entire career.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Of course you dont want him to play

Re: Watson's Return Date?????

Nov 17, 2014, 9:56 AM

For what it's worth, Connor Shaw went down in last year's UT game with what was termed a "severe knee sprain of the LCL & MCL"...He didn't start the next week against Missouri, but came in late in the game to lead them to a come back win. He started the following week against Miss St, but only ran the ball 3 times for -14 yards.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Exactly.

Nov 17, 2014, 10:22 AM

No designed QB run plays for the Coots. Should not have been any against GT.
