Better pure passer: Whitehurst or Watson?

Dec 20, 2015, 10:59 AM

Obviously Deshaun Watson is a better overall athlete. But watching the 2003 highlights someone posted, Charlie Whitehurst could put the ball on a rope. Plus he never had the benefit of the type of coaching and talent DW has. Still, DW throws a pretty deep ball.

It's a tough choice. At this point maybe Whitehurst, but DW will surpass him next season? I gotta remember

Watson and it's not close

Whitehurst had some pretty decent talent around him as well. Derrick Hamilton was a better wr than anyone we put out there this year (after Mike Williams got hurt). And Whitehurst's senior year he had JD at running back.

Yea it is close Whitehurst was good, he had some bad 0-lines.
He took a beating and never got hurt.

It was absolutely close as the pure passer statement goes. Totally agree badb. Whitehurst took huge hits and could hit a target like nobodies business.
By the way isn't Whitehurst getting the start today in Indy?

The only area in which Charlie beats DW4 is his lustrous locks of lettuce. Deshaun is to QBs as CJ was to RBs.

Watson without a doubt

Dec 20, 2015, 1:01 PM

Charlie padded stats with short passes to wr's that were contained and had no chance to make a first down. Watson makes the pass he needs to. He throws for the yards. He makes that clutch play.
GO TIGERS!!
