Watching the ok/wv game reminded me of a story I was told about West Virginia men...

A mans cousin from West Virginia came to SC to visit once.
They decided to go to the store and get some groceries for a meal. The man went to the clerk and said,”I’d like some maters, taters, ‘n onions.
The clerk said, “You must be from West Virginia.”
The cousin said,” How’d you figure that?”
The clerk said,”By the way your friend said, ‘maters,taters,’n onions’.”
Well the cousin was just floored. When they stepped outside the store, the cousin said,”Let’s try that again! That was awesome!”
They crossed the street and went into another store.
The cousin stepped up to the clerk and proudly said,” I’d like some maters, taters,’n onions!”
The clerk looked at him and said,” You must be from West Virginia.”
The cousin boasted,” I bet it’s by the way I said ‘maters, taters,’n onions’,isn’t it?”
The clerk said, “Nope, this is a hardware store!”??????
