Warning: Not a sports related qweschon

Was considering cutting the cord and start streaming for all my tv viewing pleasure. Is Roku or the Amazon fire stick the best device for streaming. Already have Amazon Prime so I thought the fire stick would be more compatible. Any suggestions or advice from the technical advanced minds on this bored would be appreciated.

We are living overseas at the moment and I have tried both. I like the Firestick better and find it easier to use. I settled on the Firestick mainly because I too have Prime already AND that it lets me use my Dish Anywhere app. I still have my Dish account back home. I had it to sue with my Tailgater for games. I may rethink that also.

I have both and they both work fine most of the time. It’s easy enough to get used to either one in regards to finding programming. Not sure if it’s just my device, but I do find that the Firestick loses connection to my WiFi more often than the Roku devices I have. This is not a common issue for either device though.

WiFi strength has a lot to do with buffering, get a booster....

I don't have a buffering issue, it's every now and then my Firestick will simply drop the wifi completely and I have to unplug the firestick and let it reboot. I've switched locations between the Roku and the firestick and this still occurs intermittently with the Firestick while it's extremely rare for this to happen with the Roku. It could just be the Firestick I have. This probably occurs once a month when watching something on the Firestick, and I've probably only had to reboot once or twice in several years of watching on a Roku. For the price, I still say either product is a fine investment!

The AppleTV is by far the best option but it comes at a much steeper price.

AppleTV now has the Amazon Prime app. I use it all the time.

Also, if you have an Iphone you can mirror anything on your phone to your TV through the AppleTV.

I got an AppleTV for free for paying 3 months in advance for Directv Now. The price was well below the price of the AppleTV by itself and I got the service for the 3 months with it.

I would recommend trying to find a similar deal if any still exist.

I also have an Amazon Fire TV.

I have been happy with it as well. It's a little slower than the AppleTV and the user interface is not quite enjoyable for me.

I did not hear great things on Roku when doing research to make the switch last January but Roku may have improved on their product since then.

Fire Tv is the best option. Firestick is ok but you'll

Checking back and appreciate all the feed back. Probably will go with the Firestick or Fire Tv. Got the most positive feedback on those. Thanks again.
