Wake Forest Helmets

Just read where Wake's helmets will have "clenched fists" on both sides, and where "Wake Forest" usually appears on the back of the helmet, it will be replaced with "Black Lives Matter." Uh ... frankly, all schools, including Clemson, I'm sure, will be doing the same thing ... so since I don't want this Marxist "shyatt" shoved in my face, I think I'll just opt out this season.

it’s getting a bit much even for this old guy who’s never made trouble for a Black, always had a smile & a hello, have befriended some who wanted..and for the most part ditto from them.

I truly understand the Blacks many terrible & virtually unforgivable setbacks in life due to slavery, poverty, mistreatment, hatred & you name it but to try to correct it all in such a short span is asking a bit too much and will set their just cause back ten fold..especially hi-jacking the narrative thru millionaire pro sports players and now scholarship Student-Athletes by using the American Flag, the National Anthem & now much watched sports.

I fear there’s going to be a backlash from many tens of millions of Americans.

Unreal to have the Covid virus, Racial Backlash, Football Teams & players opting out & a vitriol-filled Presidential Election going on in such a small timeframe!

Well, it’s been said that America would go under from within rather than from foreign enemies..and as the Fascists, Marxists & Socialists always say, don’t let a dilemma go to waste since it’s an opportunity to gain power that we wouldn’t have under peaceful conditions.

With the DEMs seemingly being so alarmingly aligned with their far Left members, it’s really possible that some of these radicals will end up in major administrative positions & even as VP and the Supreme Court in 2021.

Time to hang on & gut it out. Good luck Clemson Tigers & Americans!

It really is just mind blowing.

An organization that has essentially burnt multiple businesses to the ground. Racially profiled and killed or injured multiple innocent bystanders. Has put forth publicly their intentions to abolish police. Has time and time again stated their intentions to demand of liberal politicians to move America toward a socialist country.

And a team or multiple teams are advertising for them without any disregard for the hundreds of thousands who died in multiple wars to keep communism out of this and other countries.

Meanwhile spitting on and burning every American flag along the way.

Just disgraceful

If memory serves, Wake cut ties to the Baptist awhile back.

This single act by Wake is a small thing in the grand scheme of things. Problem is, it gives you some insight into what's going on in the universities and even scarier in the K-12'S.

Again, I'm of the belief that this movement was hijacked awhile back and is now more about a move in general to push the country toward socialism. Rich white folks will use minorities as pawn any chance they get, and this is another example. Like someone else on here stated, this is hurting race relations alot more than helping.

I will lose all respect (obviously he doesn't care) for Dabo if he sells out and supports this organization just to keep future recruits happy.

A simple " love one and all " on the shoulder pads would mean much more to alot more people .

Just my opinion

I'll have to take issue with K-12. My ONLY question to you is....when is the last time YOU were in a K-12 school? I dont want to hear about a meme you saw or a podcast you heard. When were YOU personally last in a K12 school?

You clearly don't get why the message "Black Lives Matter" means something and spouting back "all lives", or "blues lives" or whatever just fuels it even more. You simply refuse to see that the message is "Black Lives matter also"! Not Black Lives Matter more! A lot, not all, but certainly most black people haven't felt like they have mattered. There's plenty of historical data to understand why they feel that way. The messengers aren't always perfect, but neither are the messengers on the far right, but they get the benefit of the doubt. These types of double standards being exposed is whats critical to getting past this. Its exactly the reason why the phrase "Black Power" is not racist, but the term "White Power" is. The first one is meant as a statement of equality, the latter is meant as a statement of superiority.

I don't want to get into a back and forth about this, and I am certainly not calling you racist. Just asking for you to be open minded about what the message actually is supposed to mean and not confuse it and keep attaching opportunistic rioters/looter or trying to find reasons to justify a mans killing.

Do you honestly think in your heart that if the Ahmaud Arbery situation happened reversing the races, that it would have ever gotten to the point where it was swept under the rug like it was?

dogunwo, I honestly like and agree with the gist of what you said and also believe you're being unbiased and sincere but IMO, BLM, Blackpower, etc. has much deeper intentions than the pursuit of equality. The majority of this new push is to change the foundation of America and create a government similar to socialism.

The problem is that until some of these gutless coaches and administrators stand up against Marxist agitators things will never get "back to normal". Their goal is the destruction of this country and as long as the useful idiots running college and pro football allow it, they will force the rest of us to watch their propaganda. Just because a bunch of misinformed 20 years olds feel strongly about something, doesn't mean the adults in the room should let them do whatever they want. The riots around the country are being carried out by those under 25, and that riot will be coming to your block eventually if you don't stop them. Nobody with a brain thinks the opinions of the rioters should matter just because of their passion. This is all a scheme to silence dissent and then get rid of you and your family if you don't convert to their world view. Don't forget to vote in November.

We can't let it take away a lot of what brings us joy and feel passion but when and how do we take a stand. I'm sorta riding the wave as you are until things get back to a resemblance of normality. Well, while we wait and do essentially nothing, the changes will become more ingrained and this and MORE will become the NEW normal right under our noses as we sit back idily while the opposition is proactive. I never in a million years thought I would type this, but if Clemson starts putting BLM on their uniforms, helmets, etc, I may very well be the next fan to decide I'm just not interested anymore.

I have been a diehard fan my whole life. I grew up going to every game, I attended and graduated CU and never missed a game, I have lived and died Clemson football. Given to IPTAY plenty over the years, etc

Most importantly, I am always nice to people of all races and have never had a problem with blacks, or them with me.

But I am not going to support an organization that acts in the way BLM does. This all started over George Floyd who was a lifelong criminal and had done atrocious things to many people. And now, this "peaceful movement" has turned into absolute chaos across the country, spawning into many other things including "defund the police."

I do not support this and do not want to see this on Clemson's uniforms.

If they choose to do so, so be it. But I will then use my Saturdays in the fall for something else....

At this point, I really don't care what the players display on their helmets or uniforms. It is a free country. Having said that, would there be an issue if some players wore a MAGA hat on the sideline or sticker on their helmet? Shouldn't be, should it? Doubt we'll see that however. I wish nothing political were on the field. After the game or before, have at it. To be honest if the players are really serious about making a statement, wouldn't it be a much more profound statement to have the #1 Clemson Tigers come out on the field, take a knee, raise a fist and walk off the field and forfeit the game or better yet have Wake do the same. The folks at MSNBC would be ecstatic and hyperventilating. It wouldn't hurt Clemson. Go 10-0 the rest of the way and there is NO way we get left out of the playoffs. There is no downside to future recruiting efforts with such a woke move either.I'm not really serious and don't want that to happen, but honestly does wearing a fist on a helmet or wearing a slogan really move the needle. If the players want attention focused on their perception that systemic racism is still ingrained deeply in our country, a perception I don't share, why not go all in? Hopefully out of all of this, good will come, but at this point, we appear very divided. Very divided. None of us chose our skin color, our parents, our place of birth.I am trying to listen. I do get some of the concerns expressed. I realize most of the protestors aren't violent, but I don't buy into the narrative that seemingly every police/black killing is unwarranted and racially motivated. Objectively, some of these killings would appear to be murder and should be treated as such, others while unfortunate are not murder from my perspective. The mood is so charged now, can one imagine the heat Dabo would take if say 2018 were now and he benched the very successful Kelly Bryant for Trevor Lawrence. How would that play out? Would Dabo have the nerve to make that move? I am going to listen more. Hopefully everyone will do that on all sides of this racial divide. Uncomfortable conversations should go both ways if we are to really improve this situation.

When Dabo benched Kelly Bryant, there WAS a suggestion of racial discrimination leveled at Dabo by ESPN's Maria Taylor if I remember correctly, but I agree the circumstances would be amplified in this environment. The pot has been brewing for a long time.

It's how many due to the color are still hurting because of their skin color and still must overcome obstacles they would not have to had they and their ancestors 'just been white'. Get over it even if you don't like it...and those saying it means our society is going to be 'socialistic' because of this movement - you are the one just looking to be offended (or you don't really understand how this works).

That's such an obvious stretch. I guess it would come down to the reason we did it. Maybe if the Gamecock football team died in a plane crash and we were honoring them.

That would trigger me and be an obvious effort to incite violence.

Tigertown, I think I understand quite well. We're all entitled to our opinions and understanding. Only time will tell who saw understood best. May God bless America during this time of horrific division over politics and racism.

This goes for every race out there. Do what the cop asks you to do. Don’t resist, don’t talk smack, don’t steal his taser and try to shoot him with it. Don’t run, don’t reach in the car for something(even if it’s an olive branch-he doesn’t know that). Be polite, call him sir, ask politely what you were doing wrong.

If you adhere to these simple suggestions your chances of dying drops dramatically to #### near zero.

Let us play a thought exercise.

Do what the IRS agent asks you to do. Don’t resist, don’t talk smack, don’t steal his taser and try to shoot him with it. Don’t run, don’t reach in the car for something(even if it’s an olive branch-he doesn’t know that). Be polite, call him sir, ask politely what you were doing wrong.

Who runs from the IRS? Perhaps future Doctors?

I will(irs agent). Then I'll have my say and whomever prepared my taxes defend my return. If I've made errors or committed fraud, I guess I'll pay the price or do the time.

The "voice of reason"! T'S UP!
I know some cops have a big head, take advantage of their authority and have bad days but just do the things idigtigers mentioned above and all races will live to see tomorrow! Have your day in court if necessary, unless your whole objective is not to go back to jail due to a warrant or probation violation. ??

"I love this place, I've got a spot already picked out where I want 'em to put me when I die - up there on that ole hill near the stadium. I want to be there so I can hear all them people cheering my Tigers on Saturdays; then I won't have to go Heaven; I'll already be there."- Frank Howard

You are probably correct. Once they see they can push the admin around and get their way, they decide hey lets go after the Clemson name. Really surprised it has not happened already.

By the way and for what it's worth ... Wake Forest has not been a Baptist school for well over 40 years. When they moved from Wake Forest, NC and accepted all that "dirty" R.J.Reynolds tobacco money, the relationship with the Baptists was strained .... finally to the breaking point.

People who support BLM -- Burn, Loot, Murder -- have no idea what the organization stands for. It stands for marxism and communism. The white leftists have high jacked the black message and made it something much more sinister.
