I promised a picture for Halloween viewing- if anyone really cares- this one shows me after a warm day on patrol. The significance of this shot is that it shows the exact place in the background where I was wounded- if you look at the tallest mountain just above my left shoulder where the lighter shade of green meets the darker tree line is the spot where it happened. I had to be moved from just inside the trees to the lighter green area so the chopper could hover to drop the jungle hook to pull me up. Taking after Spud - DK why it did that

to boot. That pic also points out that the 50,000 soldiers we lost over there were young men IN THE PRIME OF THEIR LIVES. They were not all volunteers like today's military, but mostly DRAFTED..but they went anyway. Served their country when it called. And I am honored to know this poster personally!
