publicity sake. Now, after his HS season, they can follow him via blog, etc. and cover his announcement...Bet he waits until after signing day per their request.

and half the time they don't work out...or are so good they quit after 2 years and leave for pros...but wouldn't mind trying it out.

ESPN involvement, coach involvement, parent involvement... whoever has his ear on this situation i think it is a wise choice to wait, take all your visits, and carefully consider things after they hype and excitement of your senior year. now, dragging it until after NSD isn't wise in my opinion but waiting until you take all visits and after football season is a good call in my book.
