My Hurricane report from Charleston

Oct 8, 2016, 7:48 AM

At 7:40am Saturday morning.
So far it's been pretty tame.
On a Scale of 1 -10
Hugo was a 9
Matthew has so far been a 2

I live downtown and we never lost power. No trees down, no limbs down. There is some water accumulation on streets that also flood during any moderate rain.
The beaches do have some loss of power.
I have heard no reports of any damages to any homes or buildings anywhere in the area.
Water should receed from almost all streets by tomorrow.

Do NOT trust news media. They will drive around town and find a downed tree to be the background of their on air tv report. They will make you think that the entire area has similar damage.
One local tv reporter this morning was ranting because there was tree bark in the street.
Amazing.

We are getting pounded by torrential rain and 30-40 mph wind in Clarendon County. Don't know the exact amount but probably 6-8 inches of rain so far.

Thanks, just found a leak upstairs but not bad. Seems the water is being blown under the shingles where the two roofs come together. Looks like we another 3 or 4 hours of this. Ya'll stay safe.
