Values vs. Stockholder Equity

Oct 1, 2018, 1:37 AM

College football is big, big business. Coaches are CEOs with stockholders expecting immediate (if not sooner) returns or they're out the door. One need look no farther than Ohio State to find a situation where values are very much seconded to returns. There are many other examples.

I am so proud of our coaches and team at Clemson for keeping values in front of the decisions they've taken - and will take. Whatever this team and coaches choose as their path forward, I am confident it will be value driven. Value driven decisions last a lifetime. I would much prefer Clemson be recognized for that kind of behavior even if it means a few notches down in a poll or maybe not winning every game or championship. Those choices pay returns that are incalculable to everyone.......
