Doesn't NC state hold the tie breaker over us?

Only if there was a 2-way tiebreaker and that scenario won’t happen

so If NC state wins tonight and moves to 11-7 just as us but we split the season and we both lost to the first ranked team (uva) but nc state beat the 2nd ranked team Duke they don't get the advantage?

From ACC website:

(2) If the tied teams played each other twice in the regular season and split their games, then each team's record vs. the team occupying the highest position in the final regular season standings (or in case of a tie for first place, the next highest position in the regular season standings) and then continuing down through the standings until one team gains an advantage.

I'm just trying to understand it I'm trusting you are right which is great but didn't really understand their rule I copied above

Miami is involved in the tie......

They beat NCSU and we beat Miami, but split with NCSU...use record of teams against each other.....if UNC makes it a 4 way tie...same thing...
Miami in the tie is good for us

Miami is also 11-7 so you have to include them in discussion

If Clemson, Miami, and NCSU are all 11-7, Clemson has the best record at 2-1 versus the other two and beat Miami and split with NCSU.

The other two can't make that claim.
