Up an coming coaches are plentiful in college basketball. So

why would DRad base his BB decision on one coach's (Will Wade) decision?
Surely there are other mid major guys who'd have interest. Will Wade might end up being great, but there are no guarantees. Either you think the current guy is going to get it done or you don't. If you don't, then it's time to move in a new direction. Just trying to understand DRad's logic.
I've really wanted Brad to succeed, but what's going to be any different next year?
That's our problem: we try to find a diamond in the rough

We continue trying to hire guys on the cheap, hoping to attract a good coach who will not only succeed here but also stay. Clemson has never hired and retained a successful basketball coach. NEVER.
Yet we keep doing what we've always done, blaming our football success, location, and conference affiliation for our 100+ year run of basketball futility. Amazing.

I agree. I hate to use USC as an example but their football and basketball improved only when they got serious. Who would have thought they would land Spurrier or Fran Martin? Those 2 hires seemed so ridiculous to me when they happened. I couldn't see why either guy would want to go there. My point is that I don't think Clemson really dreams big when it comes to basketball. We'll have to pay a lot to land a big name but what $$ price do we pay by having a languishing program? We lose a lot of money in that regard.
