LULZ! I've rarely gone to FGF, and never posted anything

from there on here, but this is too good not to share.

From a perfectly serious #### fan's moving, tearful goodbye to the OBS:

"We borrowed Spurrier; he was never ours."

I'm not even sure that I can make fun of that in a way that's funnier than the statement itself so I'm just gonna leave it.

On GA Mangus...

"Are we making stuff up now? Mangus was drinking and had bladder pressure and peed on a bush and there was no talk of mouthing off. Most males have found the need to go in a hurry. He lost 2 years of wages and could not recruit. If that was a Clem coach you would not heard about it cause the cop would have offered to escort him to his room."

I love this little gem about the timing of the departure

This move was TOTALLY 'unselfish'. It gives the AD more time, it gives potential coaching candidates more time to consider the opportunity, it gives potential recruits more time to assess what's going to happen ... making the announcement NOW was the BEST thing the HBC could do for the program once he made the decision he's no longer the best guy to steer the ship.
No 'swan song' ... make the decision then done.

Pure HBC. The guy's a class-act. He always has been.

That guy is the No. 1 idiot in their fan base.

Mainly because his posts are grammatically correct, and he always puts things in quotes, to make them look like they're something that someone actually said.

"Every man is my superior, in that I may learn something from him."

If he were truly unselfish...

He'd have put some effort into the last few years.

Unreal...

I get it when a fan boohoos about a Bobby Bowden leaving the program due to their huge impact. FSU would have stunk forever had Bobby Bowden not built that program. Look at them today. Solid foundation. Not so much in the midlands. Tommy would have been ours had he been just a little bit better coach but we have allot more holding up our program due to decades of foundation building.

I'm glad to see him go, actually. I bleed orange and love to hate the chickens but I think it's important for the coaches in our state to be good developers of men as well as coaches. I honestly don't think he has made young men's lives better. It could be that he has made them worse.

Let us not be deceived by phrases about ‘Man taking charge of his own destiny.’ All that can really happen is that some men will take charge of the destiny of others. . . . The more completely we are planned the more powerful they will be. - C.S. Lewis

I agree with your sentiment. It is similar to how I feel

about UVa living in VA. I love to make fun of them and pull against them. But in the end, I respect their no talent coach for at least helping the players develop into better men. If adversity builds character, he gives them plenty of building blocks. ;)

Spurrier is a self absorbed azzhat.
