Since you asked

Tax cuts for bidnesses
Getting rid of regulations
Using that magic wand Obama mentioned to bring back manufacturing jobs

The current job situation does make Obama’s “magic wand” comment

Oct 5, 2018, 9:08 AM

look pretty embarrassing. As if Obama couldn’t imagine a scenario where this could be accomplished.

Again, like or hate Trump, you can point to key policy decisions of this administration as reasons that the job market is so good. What Obama policies can you point to?

there's a price to pay for increidble booming ecoomy

Oct 5, 2018, 10:04 AM

I'd rather have inflation rather than 8% unemployment, no jobs, low GDP, etc....

Will there be inflation if there is no increases in wages?

Oct 5, 2018, 10:09 AM [ in reply to Watch for it. It's. Coming. ]

Because there is no appreciable increase in wages.

I think more details are needed for a full picture....

Oct 5, 2018, 9:03 AM [ in reply to Just phenomenal. ]

- It's a valid point that we've been in a recovery since the peak of the economic crash in 2009/2010. (I would argue that recovery was way to slow and shallow due to poor policies, but that's another subject)

- The unemployment rate change since Trump assumed office is still dang impressive. All due to his policies? no In large part due to his policies? yeah, probably

- The labor participation rate fell steadily during Obama's term...buy about 3 pts...or 4.5%. Meaning that the reference point for the drop in unemployment is not in equiv terms...or better said, true unemployment was worse than was being reported. In contrast, the labor participation rate has remained effectively constant during Trump's term.

Bottom line IMO...like him or hate him...Trump and the Congressional GOP deserves a good bit of credit for the current economy.

I would agree that the GOP deserves a lot of credit. Remember, Trump made it clear that he would sign anything that came to his desk.

The trend is a trend, it will end and whomever it happens to end on will pay the political price.

Right, because regulations serve no purpose whatsoever,

Oct 5, 2018, 11:09 AM

and we should remove all of them immediately.

The chart shows "new" regulations, not regulations that were eliminated.

come on now 19B...that's not what he said***

Oh, I know, I was just going with the insinuation.

Oct 5, 2018, 12:12 PM

Regulations are a hindrance on the economy. Except when they save it from itself. It's akin to thwarting a terrorist attack. Apprehend suspect with cargo truck full of explosives? Newsworthy. Suspect destroys entire building and kills 240 people? About a thousand times more newsworthy.

Lol, I like a chart that has no information on it.

Gee, look at the pretty columns...
