In my racing days many years ago I was told "it cost alot of $ to go fast". I am sure more times thsn not, $ makes a difference in all sports.

The disparity is worse if you look at revenue. Alabama, who is number 1 in athletic revenue, has twice the income as Clemson, number 38, around $120 mil vs. $60 mil (that's 2008 numbers). All it takes is money.

Explain to me what they are doing with this money

We have better facilities than SCAR and the highest paid coaching staff in the nation - they aren't paying the players millions to come play there (or are they?...) so please give me a logical progression of how the extra 20 million step by step turns into better on-the-field results. they win because they recruit dominant D linemen and solid O lineman, and because they realize that ugly football wins games, with solid D as the priority.

Unfortunately that is college football today and if we remain in the ACC that gap will continue to widen. This is the sad reality.
