Hopes for this:

Ends up with this

over/under that outlet at the bottom of the meter box is

connected in front of the meter.

It's not. I know WAY too much about FBC's home wiring.

May 5, 2020, 7:13 AM

The outlet at the bottom comes directly from a 20A single pole breaker. An extension cord that has been repaired with DUCT TAPE runs from the outlet to a chicken pen, and another home-made extension cord made of indoor rated Romex runs from the outlet to a security light that has a bad bulb.

The box also has a 60A 2p breaker for his HVAC, a 60A 2p breaker for his heat strips, a 20A 1p breaker for a window unit, a 100A 2p breaker for his indoor sub-panel, a 20A 1p breaker that he doesn't know what it goes to, and maybe one or two more.

Does the light socket have power?

May 5, 2020, 10:32 AM

If so,

Take a light bulb, wrap the socket in aluminum foil, and screw it in.

You'll very soon find the breaker that feeds it.

He's already going to burn his house down with the fire pit

no reason to electrocute him, too.

Nope, no wires have power

May 5, 2020, 1:31 PM [ in reply to Does the light socket have power? ]

no switches send power to the wires. No breakers are tripped. Can't find the end of all of the wires without digging up a ton of blown and batted insulation
