USCjr loses TE recruiting battle to .....Marshall.....

Jan 31, 2016, 4:14 PM

The Thundering Herd play great football and I guess it's more desirable than spending 4 years floundering in Cootlumbia. Boom!

According to 247's own site, he had already committed

to Marshall in December, yet, he wasn't even in their crystal ball forecast at all.

That's a little screwy.

“Clemson wasn’t that much better with Trevor Lawrence, if at all.”

Marshall is underrated, I think.

That's not here nor there with this. I could see the cacks losing recruits to a walk-on offer with Lander's flag football squad, so I'm not surprised.

Still, Marshall's no joke.

I'm not one to call any program "a joke".

Marshall has a proud football tradition and they've had back-to-back double-digit win seasons. But even at that level of success, they get less than 28,000 on average per game...around the level of Wake when they are bad. Certainly not a program that South Carolina should have to worry about. You never know what goes into a player's decision...relationships, academics, environment, etc. But all things being equal, Marshall shouldn't be on the same radar as South Carolina. Muschamp is in a heap of trouble if he can't get players in there based on hype and potential...because once he starts having to recruit on his record at South Carolina, it could get really ugly.

Didn't they also lose one to Tulane?***

They got their guy... Hinson. Wells was a back-up for them. My friend is a diehard Coot so I hear more of this crap than I'd like to.
