My prediction for Clemson/UGA (long, detailed and biased):

Aug 3, 2013, 2:22 PM

Clemson: 38, Georgia: 28

Predicted stats for key Tigers:

Tajh Boyd: 25 of 34 for 307 yards, 4 TDs, 1 INT; 11 rushes for 33 yards

Roderick McDowell: 16 rushes for 84 yards, 1 TD

Martavis Bryant: 7 receptions for 98 yards, 1 TD

Sammy Watkins: 9 receptions for 112 yards, 2 TD

Spencer Shuey: 11 tackles, with 2 for loss

Charone Peake: 4 receptions for 63 yards

Adam Humphries: 3 receptions, 34 yards, 1 TD

Vic Beasley: 4 tackles, 1 pass deflected, 1 sack

Grady Jarrett: 4 tackles, 2 for loss, 1 sack

Travis Blanks: 8 tackles, 1 INT

MacKenzie Alexander: 1 INT

Bradley Pinion: punts go consistently into endzone; UGA (and future opponents) doesn't get the opportunity to establish ideal field position

Predicted stats for key Dawgs:

Aaron Murray: 18 of 29 for 286 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs

Todd Gurley: 23 rushes for 109 yards, 1 TD

Keith Marshall: 15 rushes for 82 yards, 1 TD

Arthur Lynch: 4 receptions for 72 yards, 1 TD

Malcolm Mitchell: 7 receptions for 103 yards, 1 TD

Tray Matthews: 5 tackles, 1 INT

Jordan Jenkins: 6 tackles, 3 for loss, 1.5 sacks

The Bulldogs have a loaded offense, and they'll score some points; that much is certain. But the same can be said for us, and our defense will be hungry to prove that the performance against LSU wasn't a one-time fluke.

I'm giving Gurley and Marshall a ton of credit for their talent, but if the D-line truly contains them (like, say, only 120 yards between the two of them and no TDs), then this game could get ugly in our favor. And Aaron Murray, despite his numbers and skill, will be playing against a highly ranked team in a nationally televised setting; and he doesn't exactly have a world-class record in those circumstances.

Clemson wins, in part thanks to the insane atmosphere in Tiger Town on that day. Tajh Boyd continues his quest to become the best QB in CU history. Georgia continues their years-long trend of starting the season slow out of the gate.

Yeah. I'm obsessed.

Thoughts?

GO TIGERS.

UGA utilizes the same game plan we did to basically keep your offense off the field and control the clock through the ground game.

Hey, it's pre-season. We're all geniuses, and our teams are number 1. Why not.
