Tucker Israel and our offense?

Nov 10, 2014, 8:46 PM

This offense is built around dual threat QBs, so why are we going after a pocket passer in Israel? Athletes like DW and Kelly Bryant make this offense next level, but a pocket QB limits the playbook. I think the Cole experiment showed us that a pocket passer isn't going to get it done. Is there a chance of Israel being a tough runner like Boyd, Tebow, Prescott? Or is he strictly pocket passer?

Listen, if the next Tom Brady wants to throw touchdowns for Clemson, who are we to stand in his way?!?

The Cole analogy falls on deaf ears... No need to explain.

may be a mute point since DW will be our QB if healthy

on a side note, are you really insinuating that one of the 5 greatest qb's in history couldn't make this offense (or any) work? He's making it work with Edelman & Lafell, what would he do with Sammy, Nuk, and Martavis?

Have you ever had a positive thought about Clemson football?***

And my question is a legit one, Spread offenses are better with dual threat QBs

Pocket passer will work well for us. The reason pocket passers don't work now is because our offensive line isn't great. We may not be built around pocket passers now, but maybe Chad is looking to take the offense in a different direction now that he has been able to get good linemen on board.

I guess we will see soon enough! Go Tigers!

He's not a pocket passer he may not have 4.5 speed but he can run.Plus he upgrades the position. Big arm .

Watch his tape...

The guy isn't Mike Vick but he can definitely run the ball and will be more than capable of running our offense.

Well he has rushed for 1300 yards 21 TDs and right at 6 yards per carry over the course of his career. ESPN has him listed as a Dual-Threat QB. So I expect him to have around Tajh Boyd level mobility. Maybe more agile than a thumper though.

Just because he is white doesn't mean he isn't a dual threat. Looking forward to the Israel / Bryant competition.
