Trump signs law limiting civil seizures.

Another win, in my opinion.

Record stock levels, super-low unemployment, super-low black unemployment, prison reform, tax reform.

What is left? The southern border is still a major issue, as Trump has said all along. I don’t think he’s vulnerable there. The tariffs haven’t seemed to be much of a problem and most things I read is that American buyers are moving out of China a good bit. I said earlier that American business, in large part, can adapt. So too can China to a degree...courting non-US customers with lower prices. But it hurts China more than it hurts US. I used to think Trump would have to have this resolved before 2020 but I don’t think so anymore. For the most part it’s accelerating some processes that were already in place as Chinese wages continued to rise.

Where is the exposure? Iran? I suppose, although they are getting buried by the sanctions. Scandal? Maybe, though he’s probably the most scandal-proof President ever, and it helps that the media and the Democrats have thrown everything they can at him and nothing has stuck. They’ve lost credibility.

And to top it off, the Democratic Party is a race to the left.

Never did I think we’d see a President Trump...let alone eight years of him. I just don’t see any way he loses...if things go as they are now. Which of course puts the Democrats in the frustrating position of hoping something goes wrong.

There's only ONE federal department spending over $1 trillion a year, and over $100,000,000,000 a month. Hint - It isn't DOD.

I like how a lot of things are going...

Jul 10, 2019, 3:26 PM

But if the election happened today, I probably wouldn't vote for the President. I don't know if there are a significant number of people like that...probably not.

At this point, I plan to vote for a candidate who would implement similar policies in the economic areas, but who, more importantly, is a respectful leader of people. I think we are in greater need of the latter than the former in this country.

Jul 11, 2019, 11:04 AM [ in reply to Is there anybody on the dem side that is respectful of ]

So I can't answer that. If one were to become President, I'd probably listen more to what they have to say, obviously. But I don't honestly spend much time on them. In fact, Sanders and Biden are probably the only ones for whom I can say I have ever actually heard their voice.

I don't know yet.

I've voted Constitutional Party the last two Presidential elections.

description. It would not surprise me if even Biden’s policies are far left of where you could support.

Right now I don’t even see a Libertarian getting on the ballot.

The Green Party would have no policy close to what we are doing now.

So, write in candidate, I presume?

I certainly get that position. I sure would love to see a candidate that kept us in this direction (or heck, how about we close the budget deficit?) but wasn’t a pig. I just don’t see it, and I am of the opinion that the positions of the Dems are far more dangerous than the childishness of Trump.

As long as the Democratic candidates support

Jul 10, 2019, 5:08 PM

the slaughter of our children, they are non-starters with me, of course.

As I said above, the last two times, I've voted Constitution Party. I'm not some kind of banner-waver for them, they just had the best candidate on the ballot, to me. That could happen again, maybe not. At this point, I'd say it's the most likely scenario for me. But the 2nd-most likely scenario, I'd like to think, is that the President "calms down" and I vote for him. We'll see. I don't write him off.

I considered Trump and the national debt/budget issues...

last night. It's possible when he gets the military where he thinks it needs to be including a space military he may tackle those problems.

Unfortunately, the next guy will be further left and anyone since FDR. Our nation is growing more liberal and I expect we'll go through what the EU nations have endured by instituting a soft socialism.

I've learned a couple things over the past three years.

Jul 10, 2019, 5:14 PM

It's directly related to Trump. When everything is racist, nothing is racist. When everything is a crisis, nothing is a crisis. They played the racist card until the joker is worn off and with all the constitutional crisis they say we've had it's become quite clear they either think the average voter is so ignorant we don't know what a constitutional crisis looks like or they just like to cry the sky is falling.

It's possible that eventually something will come up which merits impeachment and dems will find Americans burnt out and not giving a chit.

China is screwed.

Jul 11, 2019, 11:32 AM

They are continuing low prices to keep the agreements with Walmart and other major customers open by subsidizing their exports. Chinese dollars are going straight to the American people via low cost for Chinese junk and the tariff money is flowing to our government treasury.

Their fear is that others will step forward and take their manufacturing contracts if they allow prices on their goods to increase. They have only two options if the US hangs tough. Agree to Trump's terms or continue paying American and Americans.

Iranian Republican Guard attempted to board and take control of a British oil tanker yesterday. Six RG gunboats surrounded the tanker until the British Navy showed up. This situation will soon be solved without war, imo.
