We've just peaked at a record 50,000 new cases a day. Deaths have been going down, but statistically they will rise again with all these new cases.
Our economy cannot open up until this virus is under control. The idea that wearing a mask is a "personal choice" is merely fodder for the depression cannon. As long as people hold that view, the economy stays where it is with 30 million unemployed. The only growing sectors are retail sales, which are driven mostly by the $600 a week being paid to the unemployed.
President Idiot continues to sabotage all ongoing efforts to rein in this virus.
"Trump returned to his now familiar and baseless complaint that America has a high caseload because it performs more tests. “Now we have tested almost 40m people. By so doing, we show cases, 99% of which are totally harmless. Results that no other country can show because no other country has the testing that we have, not in terms of the numbers or in terms of quality. It was unclear how the president arrived at the “99%” harmless figure.”

many people panic or cannot get into see their Primary Care Physician and they head to the hospital. reading about this a lot, especially in more rural areas.

If he means harmless by people not dying, then maybe he is accurate. Who knows? Either way his comments are speculative and extremely irresponsible for a leader. Nothing new for him.

Throw in all the people that have prob had the virus that have never been tested because they had zero symptoms. The hospitalization rate is less than 1% and deaths a fraction of that.
God you people are depressing. Are your lives just devoid of any happiness? Based on the lies of MSM the past 3 years, regurgitated endlessly on here. I’ve never seen so many people giddy about terrible things happening to others. You wish for death, destruction, higher taxes, dead fetuses, and cancel culture. What are YOU doing for others in this country????

of hospitalizations (340,000) by the number of people in the US that the CDC estimates has had the virus (26,000,000), you get very close to 1%. So, his 99% number is not as horrifyingly outlandish as the media would allow you to believe.
He should have qualified his statement by saying - if you didn't have to go to the hospital, I consider that harmless.
Edit - these numbers are as of late June...
