about head to head results. Most of them don't even care about wins and losses period. They look mostly at point totals.

In 2015, Alabama was also number 1 in this ranking over us even though we were undefeated, and they had one loss.
In that case, though, it was because we played a softer schedule while they played a rather tough schedule.
Additionally, we had faltered down stretch including squeaking by a couple of "3-9" teams. We had gotten into a defensive slump, and since the NC State game that year, we had given up an average of around 25 points per game after starting out the season giving up an average of only 15 points or so.
