Total points given up in three post-season games: 29

Jan 14, 2019, 12:45 PM

Total points given up after the first quarter: 10*
Total points given up in the second half: 0

Sick sick sick.

* For a little nuance, those ten points include a touchdown from Pitt on a drive that started on the Clemson 39 (not a “gimme” for Pitt, but certainly a short field) and a field goal by Bama in the first minute of the 2nd quarter.

Good grief, what a defense.

I guess all that substituting throughout the year paid off.

All the substituting during those games paid off. Watching those 3 games we had backups in in the second quarter of all three of those games. Did anyone notice a drop off while those backups were in? I surely didn't. Players like Skalski, Thomas, and Turner played lights out in the game and contributed early to help the starters get some rest with no drop off. I've been saying all year long that I believe we have more depth on defense than anyone in the country not named Bama. Well after watching the game last Monday I have to take Bama out of that was well. Dabo has been saying it and he's still saying it "The best is yet to come". Go Tigers.
