Total Offense and Total Defense of top ranked teams...

Decided to take a look at the total offense/total defense of the ranked teams to see where these teams stack up. I also looked at the average total offense/total defense rankings of the teams they have beaten. Here is a summary of the stats:
These stats are from the NCAA website as of the games played this past weekend.
Some interesting observations/predictions: 1. Clemson and Alabama clearly separate themselves from the pack based on their team rankings. 2. LSU has been beating teams with better overall offensive and defensive stats. It was only a matter of time before they fell back to earth. 3. Georgia is going to get plowed by Alabama in the SEC Champ game (Georgia's has beaten an average opponent offensive ranking of 81.57 out of 129). The best offense Georgia has faced all year is Missouri (ranked 17). 4. Michigan's defense is keeping them afloat - beating offenses that average 70.5. They will get trucked by either Clemson or Alabama in the playoff. 5. Notre Dame - same story as Michigan except their defense is not as good and have a slightly better offense. 6. Oklahoma and Ohio State - good offenses but don't have champion caliber defenses to survive the playoffs.
Unless something really weird happens - looks like it is Alabama vs Clemson round 4 with the winner of that game (either semi-final or natty game) eventually hoisting the national champ trophy...
PS...I know that Ohio State is not ranked 8th but decided to look at them anyway.
