Tonight is why we need a 8 team playoff - seriously

Jan 13, 2015, 12:52 AM

don't think O st deserved to be there over TCU, or someone else or Ga Tech even.

But they won BIG !!!

of course Ducks didn't do themselves any favors having a bunch of WR out

Sorry...Georgia Tech?????????
Did I read that correctly?

ga tech SPANKED whoever they played in a bowl game

Jan 13, 2015, 12:56 AM

I hate them too - but they were good end of season

the political pressure to push SEC teams up in polls is totally ######

did you see TCU play their bowl game ???

why not 8 teams?

GA Tech was undeserving based on losing the ACC Title Game

Jan 13, 2015, 1:00 AM

to FSU and having 3 losses. They'd be deserving in a 16-team field, but I don't see anyway they would have been included in an 8 team playoff.

Strongly agree that an 8 team field is needed though. I'd stick to that argument.

Yeah they are gonna finish in the top 8.

...and? The OP was arguing that they should've gotten in the playoffs over Ohio State.

I agree with an 8-team playoff, though. ONLY under the condition that the short bus playoff committee won't try and sneak 4 SEC teams in it

5 conf champs, 1 from other conf and 2 at-large SEC teams***

Actually thought tonight validated the committee's decision

Jan 13, 2015, 1:11 AM

Obviously Ohio State ... right this moment ... is the best team in the country and totally deserved to be in the playoff.

Maybe TCU would have made a statement, but I just don't see any team beating the OSU squad we've seen the last three games.

Jan 13, 2015, 1:21 AM

Watson could school those buckeyes ....

I was just saying - Ga tech maybe could have broken another heart too.

TCU should have been in the top 4 -

I'd like to see 8 teams ....

Agree on 8 teams ... absolutely. But, OSU would still

Jan 13, 2015, 1:33 AM

have won it all this year IMHO ...

TCU should have at least had a shot.

Losing 3 games, Ga Tech not even in the conversation, though.

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

ok - i know g tech - would not have been in the 8 but they

Jan 13, 2015, 1:39 AM

played great end of season and SPANKED their bowl opponent

I just want to have 8 teams in a playoff to see who wins

I'm tired of espn pushing the polls and promoting the sec ad nauseum

O st came from a #4 seed and won it and they won by crushing them with run game and defense.

Ohio State was the best of the four teams picked for the play-offs, but a team that got blown out at home against VPI is not the best team in the country.

Jan 13, 2015, 6:24 AM [ in reply to validated yes - that's the point - I think Clemson with ]

But Clemson didn't have a healthy DW and depth is part of the game. OSU started their THIRD string QB and won. Give credit where credit is due.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

the Buckeyes can win without their starting QB

Jan 13, 2015, 6:55 AM [ in reply to validated yes - that's the point - I think Clemson with ]

that's why they are there and we are at home

I am only on favor of a 8 team playoff if they short en the season way too many games, for the final two teams,

football season doesn't last long enough. A few don't give a hoot one way or the other.

Hard to believe that the season didn't start until mid-to-latter September, when I was at Clemson in the 60's. There were a small, select number of bowls, and the AP determined team rankings.

No as a fan it doesn't last long enough, but for a student athletes whose life is not just football,v it's also school, it's rough they would be playing into febuary which could possibly back up spring practice, it's tough but sometimes you have to ask what is the best for the player. You could have 16 teams in it and the #17 team could end the season on fire and could possibly win it all. The only change I worked make is a 5 team playoff, conf champs only
