Tired after a brutal schedule

My boss and I got into a conversation about Clemson and Georgia and he says yeah Clemson’s OK but they don’t play that brutal schedule. & if they were to play a schedule like ours they be tired and beaten like us SEC boys.Well
I ask him “so in the years you(sec) won it you were not tired ?but the years you lost it you were tired?”
Excuses for mediocrity I guess.
