Tired Tigers welcome the opportunity to keep playing

Clemson's basketball team arrived in Tampa in the early hours Wednesday morning, but say they are concentrating on West Virginia and the opportunity to advance to the next round of the NCAA Tournament. Full Story »

The "tired" Tigers? Come on.

Mar 16, 2011, 9:37 PM

Can't you be a little more positive?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't think it will be an issue....

Mar 16, 2011, 9:40 PM

the only issue will be that BB wishes he had more time to gameplan... but I think we'll be fine

I have a feeling that Brownell is trying to feed an already overconfident WVA team.

I'm so proud of my Tigers, however...

Mar 16, 2011, 10:50 PM

I can't believe they flew down right after the game last night. I'm sure they didn't get to sleep till 5-6 in the morning. Why didn't they sleep in Dayton, get up at 9am (7-8 hours sleep), and then fly down?

Then, they would have plenty of time to have lunch, settle in at the hotel, practice, press conference, dinner, sleep. At least they would have stayed on schedule.

Oh well, I hope they come out, pi$$ed off, and lay the smack down on WVU.

They were in bed at Tampa~5 am and slept til noon so what's the difference? Plus you have the flight behind you already.

Body is a habit machine....

Mar 16, 2011, 11:30 PM

I should know based off being an athlete for 15 years, and coaching for 7 years.

The human body rests better when you go to bed close to the same time every night, and wake up the same time. When you change schedules, it screws with the circadian rhythms which induces fatigue.

The one thing they have going for them is youth, and the ability to recover quickly. The other thing they, is they know it's going to be tough, which mentally, is a better mindset than feeling you are well rested (WVU).

Like I said, I hope they are pi$$ed off and come out flying.

They had mandatory NCAA meetings Wed. to attend so they couldn't stay in Dayton.

Did ESPN schedule our late game to an early game schedule?

Mar 16, 2011, 11:03 PM

Maybe it was Swoffie, Dickie V or Coach K...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It does seem rather "careless, unfair, & disorganized"

Mar 16, 2011, 11:53 PM

kind of like Greensboro home office.

The Play-in games need to be in the same city as the 2nd round that they feed into. Or at least in the same region of the country.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That schedule is ridiculous. At the very least all play in

Mar 17, 2011, 9:19 AM

winner teams should play on Friday not Thursday. And they should also play in the same venue as their 1st game. what's the point of having a tournament if it's not fair?

5 hour energy?***
