Tigers/Noles move to SEC not out of question

May 21, 2012, 9:03 PM

according to Southeastern Conference sources. I just heard about this from a friend and Miss. State fan, so I need to confirm where he read that.

That could make things really interesting.

We don't benefit the sec....both Clemson and fsu...

Fans already watch sec games following their rivals. We don't watch big 12 games nor does Our sec rivals.

Clemson and FSU benefit the SEC if

May 21, 2012, 9:14 PM

that means the Big 12 can't get them and earn the extra market revenue.

Sometimes the benefit is what you get.

Sometimes the benefit is what you prevent others from getting.

Now you're thinking!

Conference expansion is ALL about building a Conference

Network, which is more lucrative than selling rights to ESPN, CBS, Fox, etc. That means going into new states, expanding the footprint.

If the Big 12 did not take in FSU and Clemson, it would take in other southern schools.

Sorry but FSU and Clemson offer nothing to the SEC. They both are great additions for the Big 12 however. Personally, I wish that weren't the case, but adding teams where you already have a presence doesn't have a benefit

Unfortunately, you are right. Some people will never get that through their head. Some want to waste time on a dream. The Big 12 has a ticket. We better stop ##### footing around and grab one of their seats.

If the sec was planning to sell all their rights to cbs and espn forever clemson would make some sense. If the sec is planning to form their own regional cable network it makes no sense to have two schools in a small state.

I agree with Scott.
Plus, they would get the advantage of continuing to build on their football brand by adding two (of the three) remaining premier football schools in the southeast.

It still has a little bit to do with the product on the field.

If conference expansion had nothing to do with money, you might be right. Unfortunately, it's all about the money.
