Tiger Pregame To Broadcast From Churchill Downs Tailgate Thursday!

Sep 15, 2015, 3:35 PM

The Tiger Pregame Show, a game day tradition for Clemson football fans on Saturdays since 2003, will broadcast its 158th consecutive show this Thursday from inside of Churchill Downs next to Papa John's Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky!

If you are coming to Louisville...Tailgate At Churchill Downs With The Tiger Pregame Show!

http://tigerpregameshow.blogspot.com/2015/09/tiger-pregame-show-to-broadcast-from.html

Are you going to the game Thursday and need a place to tailgate? How about a little bit of the Tiger Pregame Show and Horse Racing all wrapped into one?!

Churchill Downs is open this Thursday for football pregame and Twilight Thursday! Enjoy the thrills of live thoroughbred racing as your "tailgate fun" before the game!
· Gates to Churchill Downs open at 2:30 with first race starting at 3:30.
· Admission is $3
· Drink specials include $1 Bud Light & $3 Stella drafts in the Plaza from 3:30-6:30
· Local Louisville food trucks including Longshot Lobsta, 502 Cafe, The Traveling Kitchen, Red Top Gourmet Hot Dogs, and Tasty Tuxedo so you can eat before the game!
· Live Music from Colin Elmore and the Danville Team
· A Wagering 101 Tent for betting guidance and personalized advice

And the Tiger Pregame Show with Scott Rhymer will be broadcasting the show from inside where all of the above fun is taking place!

"This will certainly be a first," Scott Rhymer said earlier this week. "We have broadcast in some great locations, but a remote broadcast inside of Churchill Downs while we get ready for a Clemson football game is a very unique experience for us and for the listeners!"

http://www.churchilldowns.com/calendar/2015-09-17

Thursday's show will broadcast from 1:30-4:30 on WCCP 105.5 FM and wccpfm.com. If you are traveling to Louisville, you can stream the show via the TuneIn App (it is free) on your Iphone or Android-based Phone.

David Hood, Senior Writer for Tigernet, will join Tiger Pregame Show founder Scott Rhymer on WCCP’s popular Tiger Pregame Show as it enters its 13th year on the air at WCCP 105.5 FM.

The show will also tap into the continued emergence of Social Media as part of Clemson fan’s game day expectations.

“No longer do Clemson fans have to sit beside a radio in order to listen to the show”, Rhymer points out.

“When driving to the game Thursday or working in the office, our fans can stream the show via their smart phones, making the show as portable as the listener wants to be on game day."

“But that is not the only reason we embrace the technology. In addition to streaming the show, we also want to engage fans during the show to allow them to give their opinions and insight into the show that we can use while broadcasting. That’s the really exciting part of embracing the technology as it allows fans to do more than just listen. It allows them to engage.”

??The Tiger Pregame Show format will air from 1:30-4:30 this Thursday and we will continue to offer in-depth analysis of the upcoming game, focusing on X’s and O’s of what fans should expect to see on the field during the game.

Segments for the show include up-to-the-minute game day weather conditions, Top 25 Report, ACC and SEC Game Breakdowns, Injury Reports for both Clemson and their opponent, and a historical look back at this day in Clemson football history.

Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney, Defensive Coordinator Brent Venables, and Co-Offensive Coordinators Tony Elliott and Jeff Scott will offer their input on the show.

Eric Mac Clain, Charone Peake, Ben Boulware, and Deshawn Watson will also have their thoughts on the game, giving Tiger fans a clear vibe of what the players are thinking leading up to kickoff.

Don Munson, the Voice of the Tigers, will join the show live each week to give his unique perspective inside the football program.

And, just like in the previous 12 years, the show will close the final hour with the Keys to the Game and game day predictions, this year with Tigernet's David Hood.

You can keep up with all information related to the Tiger Pregame Show by liking the page on Facebook and following via Twitter.

You can also stay tuned to The Tiger Pregame Show Blog, WCCP 105.5 FM, and at wccpfm.com for updates on the show.

Scott will join Mickey Plyler on WCCP 105.5 FM and wccpfm.com this Wednesday morning at 7:05 to talk Clemson football and to set the stage for the Tiger Pregame Show.

If you are going to Louisville, we will see you at Churchill Downs! Churchill Downs is open this Thursday for football pregame and Twilight Thursday! Enjoy the thrills of live thoroughbred racing as your "tailgate fun" before the game!

This season is set up to be magical...so don't miss a minute of the season and start your game day experience with The Tiger Pregame Show.

Re: Tiger Pregame To Broadcast From Churchill Downs Tailgate Thursday!

I know that Churchhill Downs is near the stadium. Do you know if you can park there and then walk to the stadium or if they run shuttles to/from the stadium?

We were planning on coming there first but had not yet figured out how we were getting to the stadium/game.

That is the suggestion. Supposedly, 15 minute walk. Hope to CU and the Tiger family out in full effect! Go Tigers!

Parking info and walking distance

Sep 16, 2015, 5:11 AM

From front door of Churchill Downs to front door of Papa John's Stadium, it registers less than 1 mile (actually 0.8 miles to be specific).

Parking at Churchill Downs is free. There is public parking as close as 0.5 miles from Papa John's for a charge of $10. All public parking, including at Churchill Downs, is first come first served.

So, you can park at Churchill Downs and have a 0.8 mile walk to stadium or you can pay $10 and be 0.5 miles from stadium. In looking at it...if you are going to see the horse races (and Tiger Pregame Show) by tailgating at Churchill Downs, it makes more sense to park there for free and have a slightly longer walk. Remember...Churchill Downs has food and drinks...so in theory you can do all your tailgating before the game inside Churchill Downs.

I have a phone meeting with the Media Rep at Churchill Downs this morning and I will try to get more info and post it as needed.

Here is the C&P on Parking from Churchill Downs:

Free Parking
Outside of the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks, parking at Churchill Downs is always FREE on a first-come, first-serve basis! The largest parking lot is accessible via Longfield Avenue near Gate 10. Free parking for the general public is also available:

White Lots – Accessible off of Longfield Avenue. Buses should park in the Longfield parking lot and utilize the Gate 12 entrance to access parking. This lot is also accessible via Longfield Avenue or Queen Avenue.

Green Lots – Accessible off of Taylor Boulevard or Bohannon Avenue
