For those coaches and fans who call the HUNH offense

gimmicky, I'd like them to ask the players how gimmicky the workouts and conditioning drills and practice sessions are. On both sides of the ball.

Those that call it a gimmick fail to undersand two things:

(1) the meaning of the word gimmick and (2) the game of football at a substantive level.

working and more determined bunch of young men that are preparing to don the Paw this coming football season. When we win it will be because we're talented and we outwork the competition. I agree, there's no gimmick in that.

And is just a smart way to try and capitalize on defensive confusion.
It has inherent drawbacks, but overall it is a sound offensive philosophy.

drill (yeah, I'm that old), I used to wonder even back then why teams didn't just play that way all the time. Nobody ran the two-minute drill better then Johnny U and Ray Berry.

Football will take a lot of heat when defenses start faking injuries after every play.

It happens now.
Maybe they'll make a rule like the NFL on faking injury - I'm not sure who to fine though.

If a kid is out of breath, is that any different than being injured?

jobs to understand that principle...and learn how to counter the HUNH. If so, they will be called geniuses; if not...then, maybe, they should pursue another profession. The last thing football fans across this nation want to hear is bellyaching about offensive or defensive schemes.

When we played, leather helmets and all that, we were told it's the defenses job to be ready when the offense snaps the ball. If they know going in we're gonna snap every 15 seconds or so, they need to figure out what to do personnel and scheme wise much quicker.

Winners find a way to win.
Bedford Forrest would be proud of The Chad.
