and Miss St finished the season unranked and Ole Miss sucked.
So there's still a chance we could suck. So stop acting like we've done anything. Good grief yall are acting like we've won something and we've done nothing. We're just 7-0. That means nothing. We've done nothing. Yall need to chill out until we've done something. I'm tired of listening to yall talk. This is Clemson. We're better than Ole Miss and we're better than Miss St. We've done nothing...

We also aren't in the SEC and get inflated rankings based off crappy wins.
After we beat # 6 ND who many people claimed to be the best team in the nation, we moved from 12 to 6.
When Ole Miss beat 'Bama, they moved from 17 to 3.
We dominated ND for the majority of the game, and Ole Miss benefited from lucky plays and only beat bama by 7.
I've never seen so many teams elevate to the top 10 during the season and end up unranked by the end as I have seen the last couple of years from the SEC

Honestly, if they were going to play harder in one scenario or the other, it would be if they were playing for the playoffs.
The game means precisely the same when it comes to the ACC race.
