This may not be a popular statement,

Oct 31, 2016, 7:54 PM

but officiating was horrible last Saturday. Jimbo was right to complain about the chop block, and both teams had stuff that they could complain about all night.

Not only were there were too many bad/missed calls, but there were also far too many conferences and stoppages that affected the flow of the game.

Having said that, both teams had to deal with it, and the best team overcame it and won that night. Jimbo may have cost FSU with his rant that led to the additional unsportsmanlike call against the bench. That was a legitimate call, and it was a costly one.

Go Tigers!!! 8-0 Baby!!! Beat the Cuse!!!

It was not called a chop block, block from behind and below

the waist and yes it was a penalty. Not sure where the announcers got chop block.

I've said that so many times that I'm not going to say it but one more time: THE REFEREE NEVER SAID CHOP BLOCK. That term was only used by the broadcast media, print media, and Jumbo. It was one of the WORST CLIPs I ever saw, but it was still a CLIP.

I totally agree.

Yours is not a popular statement, mostly because you're wrong. I'd agree with you about the call being wrong but then I'd be as wrong as you. So for now it's me and the officials being right about both calls.

You watch too much ESPiN, brah.

If Jimbo thinks you can put your helmet on his hip and

drive your shoulder pads into his back and that's legal then he needs to go on to LSU and wear big hats.

Bad/missed calls in other parts of the game

have nothing to do with this. This call was an ILLEGAL BLOCK below the waist and was a GOOD Call. The fact that you think they called a CHOP BLOCK just shows you're not informed with the right facts you need in order to render a valid opinion.

Also, check out the TWO holds

on Big Ben and Watkins on the very same play.

holds. looks like theres an argument for 4 holds on that play. there was a lot; I repeat; a lot of holding in that game by fsu. our d-line is awesome. obviously they had to hold them on about all plays. should have been more holding penalties.

It was the same crew from the Miami vs Duke game last year

Yes, the officiating was terrible

and far too intrusive on the flow of the game. Jeff Heazer and his crew are rapidly taking over from Ron Cherry as the worst in the ACC. They have to form a committee every time they throw a flag!
