I mean, "anecdotal evidence" is a commonly used phrase. Anecdotes can be evidence. The quality of such evidence is obviously debatable.
Not all evidence is data.

They are data. They’re just not very reliable or useful data. But they are data points.

Twenty five years ago.
No but seriously, Prod is correct. This is an absurd fight that Trump critics are waging. They are making straw men all over the place. That a man died by taking it in Arizona, when he did not take a drug, he consumed aquarium cleaner at no one’s direction. That you could overdose, which is painfully obvious as you can overdose on any chemical and no one has overdosed when prescribed the drug. That there could be harmful drug interactions, which is also painfully obvious as we have mountains of data on a drug that’s been used for longer than most of us have been alive.

The issue is people not trusting their doctor
Apr 8, 2020, 10:55 AM

Dude that took aquarium cleaner thinking it would help him is an idiot. He listened to the president's words, then tried to self medicate. Too many stupid folks only hear Trump say 'this product is showing benefits', but don't realize they should also talk to their doctor.
There are posters on this board who have purchased the drug directly from India and are ready to self-medicate at the first sign of symptoms. Darwinism may run its course.
Trump is trying to show a rosier side of things. I don't have a problem with that. He may need to clarify a bit to help all the idiots out there not kill themselves.

Did I say someone said that? No, I'm pointing it out for those who use anecdotal example as definitive proof.
Is this one of those "follow Catahoula to all the other threads cause he's working me in another (Bill Nye) thread?"

Did I say you said someone said that? No, I'm assuming from your comment that you may have seen that, and if so, I was asking for the link. But I guess no one has said that anecdotal evidence is the end all, be all.
And for your "working me" comment...yes yes...Catahoula...undefeated in his own mind.

communities all over the US we will not have the necessary data to best assess and combat this, period. Testing only suspected or potential cases isn't providing us the critical tools we need. Until this is implemented we are just chasing ghosts and spinning wheels.
