Mountain has claimed its first victim this year and another is missing. Supposedly they can't even send search parties for a few days because the weather is so bad on the mountain.

Please forgive me, @IneligibleUser

Is it bad that I think they shouldn't even try to send

May 17, 2019, 9:55 AM

search parties. I mean if you're going to do it, you gotta accept that risk.

This is EXACTLY why they should have a ski lift to the top.

May 17, 2019, 10:00 AM

That way, you're almost nearly sort of guaranteed to get back down safely.

SAFETY. FIRST.

Nothin' left to do but smile, smile, smile!!!!

They need to get the Swiss in there to dig some caves

spaced out along the route. Run electricity and they could have little hotels in caves every 3,000 feet or so. Maybe dig a tunnel through the mountain to the top and run a train up there. That's what they did here:

I've stood under that flag before. This must have been in summer. In winter there were horizontal icicles on everything.

I think a Hilton Garden Inn would be a nice addition

Someone will find them later in the year with better weather

May 17, 2019, 10:03 AM [ in reply to Is it bad that I think they shouldn't even try to send ]

I think some they just leave there because they're too high to carry down. Still amazes me that people have climbed the entire mountain without oxygen. Highest I've been is 12,000 feet and just walking fast made me gasp for air.

they just wait 'til it thaws a little and collect the bodies

May 17, 2019, 10:13 AM

or at least that's how they've traditionally done it
