How does Clemson still have CU-Auburn tix still available?

I am assuming Clemson gets 37,000 tickets. Clemson has roughly 55,000 season tickets sold. I thought at least 60% or 33,000 would go to season ticket holders, and the rest to other IPTAY members, corporate partners. I know Club and mezzanine are sold out, but how is it possible that there are still lower and upper level tickets unsold? I noticed on the Auburn site that there are only upper level seats left. I bought tickets, but I am scared to go since Clemson is 0-9 in my last 9 Clemson games.

Tix for that game aren't included in season ticket packages.

They have to be purchased seperately. Also, just because we are Clemson doens't mean we sell out our alotment. In fact, the last few years in neutral site games we really haven't. ACC champ in Tampa, Car Care Bowl and ORange Bowl ring a bell? I think we came close to a sellout for last years ACC championship game, though.

I see your point, there is plenty of lead time,

This is 120 miles from campus, its on a long holiday weekend, the first 2 games between the 2 teams were great, and Clemson is a preseason top 25 team with 2 Heisman candidates. Also, the ACC Championship game had no momentum as Clemson was coming off a few loses, the Orange Bowl was on a Wednesday, and the Opponents in Tampa and Care Care Bowl were not compelling reasons to buy.

As a side note, Clemson and Auburn only got around 17,500 each

Sounds low, but the Chick-Fil-A events (Kickoff Classic & Bowl game) have a fairly high corporate ticket allotment.
Granted those corporate tickets eventually find their way into the hands of the fans, but each school's distribution is roughly 1/4 of the stadium size with the Georgia Dome.

According to wikipedia Clemson received 31,200 tickets in

2008 and in 2009 both schools received the same amount.
Take wikipedia for what it's worth.
I do know however that Clemson will have 3,300 student tickets so I doubt they would take that many away from 17,500 but who knows.

From what I know, Clemson needs

the fans to purchase tickets from them. The numbers are pretty low.
I'm assuming it is due to us playing Auburn 3 years in a row and also not being able to buy a win in that stadium.
