The "offers by top 25" seems like it'd be more accurate

The only schools that really recruit nationally are the top schools in the country. Most other schools don't even bother recruiting outside of their area.

How do they determine "offers" ?

Do they go by what the kid says?

Do they go by what the school says?

Sometimes we see a player on a recruiting site with 50 "offers" and you have to winder how many of those offers are actually committable and how many just mean the school simply sent the kid a standard packet of information.

This is nice but basically meaningless. Rivals.com is probably a more accurate assessment of talent although the 'star' rating system is somewhat subjective as well. All of the top talent is so darn close in ability, that's why you have teams that are consistently in the 25 to 45 range in ranking giving the top 10 teams in recruiting a run for their money or beating them come game time.
