...and since we're playing in Atlanta in a few weeks, we wouldn't go back there.
Of course the notion that the No. 13 team nationally (well preseason, that is!) would be 3rd in the ACC sort of flies in the face of a "weak conference" mindset, doesn't it?

The Russell Athletic Bowl gets the third pick from the ACC. Based on their predictions, FSU wins the conference championship and goes to the Orange Bowl. Virginia Tech (the runner-up again) goes to the Peach Fil-A Bowl and Clemson goes to Orlando as the 3rd pick.

If we beat everyone except FSU, and FSU wins out, then wouldn't we be ACC No. 2 since VT or GT would have lost in the ACCCG and to us?

So we have Atlantic:
FSU 0 losses
Clemson 1 loss (FSU)
doesn't matter who is below
And Coastal
VT 2 losses (us, FSU - don't know if they play them)
GT 3 losses (us, FSU - same as above, VT)
So...we wouldn't go the the ACCCG, but we'd be second in the conference, no?

people who did not advocate leaving the ACC saying it was a utopia. And specifically, no one said that our bowl tie-in's were where they needed to be. I hold Swofford personally responsible for losing the Gator Bowl tie-in.

It is stupid to think anyone at Clemson or associated with Clemson can have an impact with the ACC.
Recognizing the ineptness of our conference admins YET, still wanting to remain in the #5 conference is stupid.
Lastly, it is stupid to suggest that there might be "links" to prove my point. I don't need links to prove that staying in the ACC is a stupid choice.
The bowl games are just another fact that proves the point, without the need for "links."

I'm simply asking me to show where ANY pro-ACC fans have touted our bowl tie-in's as a conference strength, let alone EVERY pro-ACC fan.
I've had it with baseless comments in defense of one of the stupidest ideas Tigernet has ever obsessed over (leaving the ACC for the Big 12).
No one has ever said that our bowl tie-in's aren't an issue...at least not since we lost the Gator Bowl.
No reason to get into a back-and-forth on the other comments since they had nothing to do with your post or my response. Obviously I disagree with all of your points.

If CLEMSON goes 11-1, I would dance naked on Main Street. JK - nobody would want that. 
But I think we could possibly (maybe, just maybe) go 10-2. We will lose at least 1 of AU, FSU, and SUC. And we will lose 1 more that we will be favored to win (Wake?). If that mode changes, then I will really dance naked on Main Street. JK again - stop even imagining that. It ain't gonna happen.

I agree, we were blown out in 4 games last year, 4 losses, and now we are supposed to only lose 1..Our o-line is inexperienced, our QB blew it under pressure, and our D, well, i think people are expecting too much..Then again, these are the same guys that say 10 wins EVERY year

that this idiot was picking us to finish 5th or 6th in the ACC. Then i realized that the Russell Athletic Bowl was actually our #3 bowl tie-in.
This conference's bowl tie-ins are way more pathetic than some guy picking us 3rd in the league (could easily happen).

I thought UCF was banned for one year from going to a bowl because of recruiting violations. Does that not take place until 2013?
