In answer to your question I am a realist. People are born every day and people die every day.The only sure thing is death and taxes. If a democrat was in charge all of this would be irrelevant.

If I had only known this before going to college I might have chosen a career as a mortician!
And yet, while it is true that we all have an inescapable appointment with death, we nevertheless have the instinct for self survival and at least in our culture, a deep respect for human life. I think most people instinctively want to preserve life if at all possible, provided of course that the prospect of quality is possible after receiving heroic life sustaining measures.
Opinions are varied regarding the value of life. I happen to subscribe to the notion that the value is priceless, and furthermore, that life is a sacred gift from God. But the perception of the value of life tends to change immensely when the life is our own versus some nameless, faceless person(s) outside our circle of influence.

A LOT OF PEOPLE DIE IN CAR WRECKS EVERY DAY. A LOT. HAVE NOT SEEN THEM TRY TO SHUT DOWN THE AUTO INDUSTRY.
