upstairs...I have heard this several times on ESPN today. God is the creator of man and
to call him a man is blasphemy. It shows a lack of biblical knowledge and sound doctrine.

But you knew who they were talking about when these 17-18 year old kids were mentioning and giving praise to God, right? Otherwise you wouldn't have drawn those assumptions of a reference to God and made this post

It's just what they were taught to say and believe. When they get out in the real world they will discover very quickly that God does not play favorites. Then we will see if they really believe....

First, this sounds like pretty good trolling. If that's your goal then good job, I guess.
But if you're serious perhaps ask yourself what good you are hoping to do with your post. I mean if you're just being pedantic then I might point out that your lack of capitalization of the pronouns referring to God can be also seen as a "lessening" of the Almighty. Of course I don't think that, but it's an equally stupid point to make. But to the point, what good are you hoping to achieve? Do you think that calling God the "man upstairs" is somehow a statement of theology? And even granting that you do think that, what real, practical good comes from making the post?

Seems to me like the Good Lord has more things to worry about in this world than what a bunch of young men, who are THANKING him, for their gifts, are calling him. Like judgmental "Christians" who are more concerned with the words that these young people are using than what is in their hearts when they are praising him for giving them a blessing.
