Anyjuan see the end of Utah / USC ?

Utah coach went for 2 instead of kicking the extra point to force OT ...

I can't remember the last time I saw that work ... to me the Utah coach gave the game to Southern Cal

I believe the thinking is that when you are on the road, you go for the win instead of a tie to avoid overtime on your opponents home field.

For the life of me cannot understand that call. Utes owned the first half. usc adjusted some in the second but the Utah D was holding up pretty good. Utes have a good kicker. Beyond me. I'm sure he's taking heat for it too. usc really hadn't demonstrated they could stop Utah in the red zone so if you ask me, utes had all the momentum.

However, that being said, did anyone see the replay - had the QB kept his eyes downfield he had a wide open flip pass to the WR. WR did a heck of a job giving the QB a chance and that QB should have kept his eyes downfield because a quick glance should have told him no way he was running...

Utah could not stop USC in the 4th. They were gashing a gassed defense.

The last few possessions of the game Utah's defense looked completely helpless against the real USC offense.
I actually thought going for 2 gave Utah the best chance to win.
Hindsight is always 20/20.

I haven't talked to one Ute fan today that disagrees. Utah's defense was GASSED. End it when you have a chance to win.

Paul Johnson did the same 1st game against UT in OT

and also failed. Both coaches did so based on their gassed Ds. They viewed a 50% shot at getting the 2 points as greater than being about to out play the other team in another OT. The play was there for Utah had the QB looked up.. GT was not a good a play call or O to be trying that with in my opinion and thought UT was probably just as gassed on D.
