...other than to generate interest (revenue).

Right now it's all just a bunch of hot air.

Also, wouldn't it be awesome if two SEC teams made the playoff and we beat them both!

I think doing the first reveal after 8-9 games is just about right. Now is a good time for the committee to start telegraphing how things shape up.

The looming LSU/Alabama game does cast a big shadow. We'll see how far the loser falls.
