Based on Dabo's track record everyone knows he will give Kelly a chance. Just like he did with Cole Stoudt even though he had Deshaun Watson.

Personally I don't think Bryant will ever start a game at the QB position. If he does, we are in deep trouble. What has he done to show you that he can take over for DW? Great young man and a solid player but .... big league QB he ain't!

I agree. If our coaches had confidence in Bryant he would be seeing the field more at this point in time. I'm not 100% sure but did he even get a snap against BC and Cuse when we blew both of those teams out? I think he is a great big package type of guy. I could see him with big dex and Wilkins in a jumbo wildcat, But from what ive seen from him passing the football (The few throws we've seen) we have better options on the depth chart already with better talent coming in. There is a big difference in playing 4 years in a high school spread like DW did and playing half your high school career in a wing T.

I feel that if we win the national championship DW is gone. He'll feel like he accomplished his mission here. If we don't I say it's 50/50 he comes back. He needs the money of the NFL but will feel like he left something on the table in college. Personally, I hope he does what's right for him, whatever that may be.

I agree odds are it will be Bryant, based on game experience alone, and given the fact that he was the #2 QB this year and has been in the system for 2 years.
But - while Bryant obviously has a leg up, there are some questions that will have to be answered:
Will Bryant's downfield passing game have progressed enough to be effective in this offense?
How good is Zerrick Cooper, and will he have sufficient grasp of the offense?
How good is Hunter Johnson, and will he have the maturity and moxy to compete at this level right off the bat?
Could Chase Brice surprise? Not likely, it seems, but who knows.
Bottom line, the QB battle will be wide open come next fall, and nobody here can answer these questions. Besides, if DW comes back, then . . .

What track record? Because he started Stoudt a couple years ago after Watson was hurt most of the spring and Kelly was kicked off? Long track record there.

with all due respect to KB, the program needs better at QB. Should be an open/competitive spring/fall, but I would fully expect Cooper or Johnson to start day 1. The schedule is tough next year and that position needs to be very good
