Someone at my office this morning claimed he read an article stating that 2 of our QB's on roster were possibly looking to transfer. Any truth to this or is it just more fake news?

So an article said that they were "possibly" looking? Even if this were true it doesn't actually mean anyone is looking. Plus we have 6 QBs so I don't think anyone was going out on a limb.

that interviewed Hunter Johnson and Zerrick Cooper.
Hunter said he was staying.
Zerrick said if God leads him away, he would go.
But until something happens (and we know it will at some point)...just let the process play out.
We will be left with the best one.

Ah, ok. Wasn't sure where the article came from. Just what a guy in my office was saying. I wanted to ask it on here because I trust SOME (use that term loosely) of the intel on here vs some beat writer.
But I agree....6 QB's just doesn't seem realistic to have on depth chart so you have to expect 1-2 to possibly move. Just hope we hold onto either Cooper or Johnson. Wish them the best if they do. Their still athletes that want to get out on the field.

I think Johnson is for sure staying. Cooper should go imo. Johnson has seemed to have passed him and TL will most likely as well. I really like Cooper but I would like him to be able to play and grow and I doubt he gets that chance at Clemson. After KB is gone Johnson will have a chance battling Lawerence and may the best man win.

I do not foresee him transferring either. There will be a couple that will transfer, but some will remain for the competition. This is a normal occurrence when you have a top tier program. It's a matter of separating the wheat from the tares. No big deal, and in fact it helps our program even more. I guess Todd Ellis was sort of correct. At Clemson we are cycling out, but not the way he thinks. We are cycling in better players every year. It just goes to show you that Dabo means what he says when he says that nobody's spot on the roster is secure. If someone comes in behind you and they're better then you'll be sitting the bench. It's really that simple. I mean, you won't lose your free education, but you won't be seeing the field if Best Isn't Your Standard, and you're not ALL IN.

I love them all but...some of these guys, Cooper and Johnson could start immediately at schools like Florida, Kentucky, South Florida, and Oklahoma State in need of a QB. They would have to wait a year but they are that good and would benefit any team. We have an overload of good players at that position currently and it will get worse with Lawrence coming in. Of course with any great high school quarterback there is always a risk that he will turn out to be a Willy Korn as well as a Deshaun Watson. I expect the latter for Lawrence but you never know. These guys deserve to be starters somewhere and it would open scholarships for us. I would hate to see them leave but it might be the best for everyone involved.

The object of recruiting is to get the best prospects available, just as good or better than those currently on the team. Under Dabo's leadership we have seen an uptick in recruiting during his tenure, with the current class already having four of the top ten recruits in the country. If the incoming recruits develop and perform as expected, we will see some current players relegated to back-up roles. There will be players with diminished roles considering transferring. This is just the nature of the beast. We may hate to see players transfer but sometimes it is in the best interest of the player to do so. Very few players will be content to sit on the bench when there is a possibility of their being a contributor on another team.

The headline was misleading. It said something to the effect, Quarterbacks talk about leaving early. And they did. Johnson said he was not. Cooper said he wasn't sure. In other words, no news at all. For sure, Cooper is going to get shuffled back, so I'm guessing he will leave at some point.
