There Should Be World Cup In American Style Football ----

Jul 3, 2014, 4:02 PM

Not talking with helmets or shoulder pads....but in the
way we did it growing up ----in the backyard with
backyard rules. We may can have light padding such as
pants that have the thigh and knee pads in them already.
They could have the thin shock pads that go over the
torso.
This could be pretty interesting to watch. They
could have it every 2 years rather than having it every
4 years like soccer's World Cup. The female version of it
can happen every other year in rotation with the men's
version.

Rules....

Need to gain 10 yards to make a new set of downs.

Tackling is required.

Each score is 7 points.......No Field Goals.

Punting is allowed.

All 4 quarters is 10 minutes each.

Overtime is in play for 8 minutes.

What does the public think about it???????????

You want to have a world cup full of amateurs of American football?

I think this could work out doing it with the states that want to compete, but using real athletes. Can Use pro or college.

I would love to see Georgia VS. Alabama or Texas VS California.

Probably too risky for the danger/money risk factor.

There is...

There is, at least in the way College/pro plays. It is every 4 years and the next one is next year. Next year will be the fifth iteration of it. Japan won the first 2 and the USA won the last two. It needs to be mentioned that the US didn't field a team the first two cups because it is such a big sport here.

Look up IFAF to read about it.
There are STRICT participant requirements for the US. The players cannot have played in the Pros or CFL, cannot be currently in college playing and can only be a maximum of a year out of college. Almost every other country can have anyone from their country playing. (exception Canada, can have anyone except CFL/NFL players)
