New rules enforcement won't work long term unless security/ushers do the following:
1. With several minutes left, ushers or guards should move from their posts at each tunnel opening down toward the wall. Turn away anyone attempting to gather at the bottom of the aisles. Maybe even hold signs directing people to the WEZ, Hill, and student sections.
2. Close access to the student section until the required 30-second countdown has expired. This will mitigate the crowd crush risk.
3. (If necessary) Pepper spray the dumb b@stards who insist on jumping the wall.
Everyone who participates in it just be on your best behavior.
1) Walk; don't run. 2) Use the designated access points; don't hop the wall. 3) Wait your turn. Heed the 30-second rule. If entering from the hill, don't press upon the people in front of you. 4) Stay away from the opposing team's players & coaches. Don't obstruct their way to the visitor's locker room.
Long-time Tiger fans know we've been doing this for decades, with only a few (rare) incidents. But we must all understand that with the rising national profile of our university & football program, we are getting more scrutiny (& more misunderstanding & complaints) about this practice than we ever have before. It'll take only 1 more serious incident before Clemson is forced to end the tradition altogether.
