I been saying for years that these guys should get some

Jun 6, 2014, 11:45 AM

sort of $ on theses games who model an image after specific players. With a quick edit or roster pack the names can be changed.

Uhmm...The schools "made" nothing on the EIA games.

Jun 6, 2014, 12:11 PM

There is no profit for the schools and athletic departments.

If a Tigernet Reporter spent $500 from his own pocket in travel expenses to cover an out of town game, and was paid $500 for his article/pictures...how much did the Tigernet Reporter "make"?

Every "extra" dollar a school has, they spend it on football and basketball, one way or another, to try and improve their recruiting.

To improve recruiting for what??? To win more games. To win more games for what??? To generate more revenue. By the way, your Reporter analogy is horrible and bereft of any logic.

The salary of Athletic Directors, Presidents, and Coaches

Jun 6, 2014, 12:33 PM

are all public record at public schools.

The only salary that seems out of whack with the real world is the coaches salary.

Athletic Directors and School Presidents manage a lot of money and people. They should be paid over $200,000/year when you compare their duties to say the CEO of a similar sized private business.

No, he actually he made a good point. Maybe you don't understand it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not really. It's ~100k that they wouldn't have had

Jun 6, 2014, 6:52 PM

otherwise. If you offered me 100k that i could "only" spend to improve my business do you think i would turn you down? Heck no.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If someone offered you $100,000 that you could "only"

Jun 9, 2014, 12:07 PM

spend on your employees in order to attract and retain the best and brights in the world...

Of course you would not turn it down.

Clemson University has remodeled the locker rooms about 10 times in the last 25 years. The locker rooms are NFL caliber.

Is my heart suppose to bleed for the football player who's avatar generated $100,000 so that Clemson University could remodel the locker room (again) in order to give that player (and his teammates) a near NFL experience?

There is NO PROFIT in NCAA football for the University and Athletic Departments.

The Athletic Director "makes" money. The coaches "make"

Jun 6, 2014, 12:27 PM [ in reply to Uhmm...The schools "made" nothing on the EIA games. ]

a lot of money.

But the Athletic Department and school break even (if they are good).

Univ. of Maryland has been loosing a lot of money for a while now.

EA Sports Jack Leggett's College Baseball 2014.........$1.29***

Jun 6, 2014, 2:10 PM

Critics panned the game saying by the 7th inning they just didn't care anymore.
